FAQ
Technical & Performance Characteristics
– What are the main types of blades offered (OFF, OFF-, DEF, etc.)?
Our blades are categorized by speed and control: offensive models (OFF/OFF-) are designed for players seeking speed and power, while defensive blades (DEF) offer greater control.
– Why choose wood reinforced with flax rather than carbon?
Flax offers a natural feel, better vibration absorption, and an eco-friendly alternative to carbon, providing an excellent balance between speed and control. Additionally, France leads the world in flax production, accounting for about 75% of global output. Choosing flax means supporting local production and avoiding international transportation to our workshop.
– Are Mamba Blades woods suitable for beginner players?
Some of our blades are fast, suitable for intermediate and advanced players. For beginners, we recommend blades with more control to learn the basics like the PRO500 or PRO530 blade.
– Are Mamba Blades woods legal for competition?
Yes, Mamba Blades woods are legal. We also manufacture recreational woods. In this case, you will clearly find the recreational mention in the description of the wood.
Manufacturing & Craftsmanship
– Where are Mamba Blades rackets made?
All our blades are designed and handcrafted in France, in our workshop in Auvergne, combining traditional craftsmanship with innovative technologies that enhance performance and quality.
– What type of finish is used on Mamba Blades woods?
Our woods are finished on the handles with natural almond oil, without solvents or varnish, to offer a pleasant grip while preserving the ecological aspect of our products. The palette is worked very finely to accommodate the coating.
– How do you guarantee the durability of your wood?
We select high-quality wood species and use artisanal manufacturing techniques, guaranteeing durable and high-performance wood.
Eco-responsibility
– Are your blades environmentally friendly?
Yes, all our blades are made without paint or solvents; the inscriptions are laser-engraved, and the packaging is made of cardboard. We are committed to using local wood species or sourcing from sustainable forests whenever possible and continuously conduct tests aimed at reducing the environmental impact of our blades.
– Why choose flax fiber as a natural reinforcement?
Locally grown flax is a natural fiber that reduces our carbon footprint while delivering outstanding performance. It serves as an eco-friendly alternative to carbon fiber, which has a complex recycling process.
– How are your products manufactured in an eco-responsible way?
Each step of production is optimized to minimize environmental impact: from selecting sustainable wood to plastic-free machining and solvent-free laser engravings.
– How are your products different from traditional blades in terms of environmental impact?
Unlike traditional blades, we replace polluting materials like carbon with alternatives such as flax fiber, reducing the ecological footprint while maintaining high performance. We are constantly seeking ways to enhance the environmental impact of our blades, from design through all aspects of manufacturing, without compromising on performance or quality.
Tips for Use & Maintenance
– How do I properly maintain my Mamba Blades racket?
We recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to moisture and violent shocks, as well as extreme temperatures. For example, do not leave your blade in a vehicle. A light cleaning with a soft cloth helps maintain the handle and surface in good condition.
– Should I varnish or apply protection to my blade?
Yes and No. The handles of our blades are already treated with a natural finish. Adding a layer of varnish could alter the touch and playing sensations. However, we recommend that you pre-glue the blade before proceeding with the first coating gluing. This will protect the wood fibers and prevent any peeling when changing your coatings.
Choice & Customization
– How to choose the racket model that best suits my playing style?
Refer to the specifications of each model on our website or contact us directly; we will be happy to advise you on the model that best suits your playing style and level.
– Is it possible to customize the blades?
As we are manufacturers, it is generally possible. The easiest way is to contact us, and we will be happy to assist you.
Durability & Warranty
– What is the average lifespan of a Mamba Blades wood?
With proper maintenance, a blade can last for years. Our blades are designed to be durable and support players in their development.
– Is there a warranty on the blades?
